About Us

Royal Folly Entrance FoyerOur vision for the Annapolis Royal Folly was to create an inn with exceptional beauty, providing a full range of amenities, with large bright rooms. We are located in the heart of the Historic District of Annapolis, directly across from the lovely St. John’s College. The 14-room Royal Folly was constructed in 1870 by the renowned Randall family. Major renovations and modernizing include security, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems, along with numerous internal and external changes, while preserving the character of the original structure. We’ve made these changes to the home so that we can create a very comfortable living environment for our guests with modern amenities and old-world charm.

The inn features four large guest rooms, including a three-room suite for families traveling with children or groups looking to spread out while inside the home. There are nine fireplaces, a rear patio with shade garden, a lovely second floor deck overlooking the State House dome, parlorsmallDVD and book library, front parlor, formal dining room,  high-speed wireless Internet and faxes available at no charge. All suites have private bath (one with double Jacuzzi), iPod docking station and cable television. ALL SUITES ARE VERY PRIVATE (NO CONNECTING WALLS).

Guests are welcomed to relax and enjoy these (above mentioned) areas of the home. So snuggle up, read a good book, peruse area guidebooks and local menus, or mingle with other guests while in the Royal Folly. For guests looking to get outside, the exterior of the home includes a deck that overlooks St. John’s College. For guests staying in certain suites, we have another semi-private deck with access to an outdoor hot tub, perfect for those clear stargazing kind of nights. 009

Breakfasts are served in our main dining room, which can accommodate up to 10 people at a time. The dining room has a beautiful fireplace, crystal antique chandelier and intricate leaded glass windows – all very characteristic of this 1870’s home in its original state. A full plated gourmet breakfast is included in the room rate, and there is a late checkout with Sunday champagne brunch. For more details please visit our amenities page.
